Why Triple Cell beats a round bubble

A round bubble touches the water at a single point, and the gaps between three bubbles never touch it at all. Those gaps are dead zones — surface area that collects no heat and insulates poorly.

Triple Cell replaces three round bubbles with one shaped cell, so far more of the blanket is in contact with the water. More contact means more heat transferred in, and less heat escaping overnight.

The manufacturing process also holds a more even wall thickness across the side, top and base of each cell. Traditional bubble is thinnest where it stretches most, and that's where blankets fail first.

What a solar blanket does — and what it doesn't

What it does

  • Collects the sun's heat through the day and passes it into the water
  • Holds that warmth overnight instead of losing it to the air
  • Extends your swimming season at both ends
  • Cuts evaporation, which saves both water and the heat that leaves with it
  • Reduces how much chlorine burns off in sunlight
  • Keeps some debris off the surface while it's on

What it doesn't do

  • Act as a safety cover. It carries no load and must never be walked on
  • Replace your pool fence or adult supervision
  • Stay on indefinitely — a solar blanket needs periodic removal so chlorine gas can escape
  • Handle heavy leaf fall the way a mesh cover does
  • Come with a roller. Ordering a blanket alone? You'll need a fitting kit to attach it to your existing roller

Three tiers, eight blankets

Every Elite blanket is Australian made. What changes as you move up is the micron thickness and how long we back it for.

Common questions

What size should I order?
Your pool size, measured at the longest and widest points to the nearest 0.1 m. Don't add anything for overlap — we cut every blanket at least 200 mm longer and wider than what you order, so the extra is already built in.
Do I need a fitting kit?
If you're ordering a blanket on its own to go onto a roller you already have, yes — the fitting kit is what attaches it. If you're buying a blanket and roller together, the fittings come with the roller.
What does 610 micron actually mean?
It's the thickness of the material. Thicker blankets hold up longer against UV and pool chemistry, which is why the warranty rises with the micron across our three tiers — 400 micron carries five years, 500 to 535 carries ten, and 610 carries twelve.
Can I leave it on all the time?
No. A solar blanket needs taking off periodically so chlorine gas can escape from under it. Left on continuously, that gas builds up and will bleach the pool lining and shorten the life of the blanket. If you want a cover that can stay on, look at our mesh range.
What does pro-rata warranty mean?
The cover reduces over the warranty term. A claim is settled as a credit towards a replacement blanket, scaled to how much of the term has run, rather than as a refund. Full terms are in the warranty PDF above.
