• Elite Aquaroll - Rigid Slat Covers
Aquaroll & LUMINA Automatic Slat Pool Covers | Elite Pool Covers

Motorised slat covers. Two ways to live with one.

Aquaroll is our rigid slat cover system — European-inspired, designed and made by Elite. LUMINA rises poolside with light, sound and solar built into the end-post. Aquaroll conceals below ground so nothing interrupts the pool. Both warm the water like a solar blanket and insulate it overnight. Same engineering, two personalities.

Two covers. Choose your character.

Both are motorised rigid slat covers built to live outdoors. The difference is where the roller goes and what it does when the sun drops.

Aquaroll

Our fully integrated system hides below ground in a cavity built into the pool shell, or under a bench — completely invisible when the cover is open.

  • Roller concealed in-ground or under a bench seat
  • Five concealment systems to suit any build
  • European-inspired rigid slat cover

It heats the pool, and then holds the heat in

Our polycarbonate slats work like a solar blanket. Sunlight passes into the slat and the heat transfers to the water beneath, so the pool gains warmth through the day rather than simply being covered.

Then it keeps it. Each slat is a sealed hollow chamber, so a closed cover floats buoyant on the surface with a layer of trapped air across the whole pool — holding warmth in overnight and cutting evaporation far more effectively than a sheet lying on the water. The same buoyancy is why it sheds rain and debris instead of collecting them.

Buoyancy is not a load rating. Aquaroll is not tested or supplied as a safety cover — see the note further down.

LUMINA — where innovation meets elegance

A brand under the Daisy Power umbrella, built by AQUALEE. The Base is machined from aluminium alloy in a refined black finish, with a full-spectrum RGB strip that lights the poolside as the evening comes in. The Speaker module clicks into place without tools and adds audio.

Most solar covers are limited by a small panel on the end-post. AQUALEE integrates the solar panels into the slats themselves, so the battery charges across the whole cover. A removable 24V 7AH battery housing keeps servicing simple.

LUMINA is priced in the estimator below alongside the concealed Aquaroll systems.

Five ways to make it disappear

Where the roller sits decides the look, the build work and the price. All five are priced in the estimator below.

Semi-Automatic U-Frame

Above-ground track with a manually engaged drive. Our most affordable entry point.

LUMINA

Illuminated above-ground end-post with RGB lighting, optional audio and solar charging. Fully motorised and retrofit-friendly.

Automatic Bench

Motorised roller concealed under a built-in poolside bench seat.

False Wall Pit

Roller hidden behind a false wall below the coping, for a clean above-water finish.

Recessed Pit

Fully in-ground pit with a lid. The roller and cover disappear completely.

Every system carries a five-year warranty on the slats and three years on the motor and controller.

Installed on real pools

Slat colours

Our slats are polycarbonate, designed for new concrete pool installations and renovations. Solar Blue is our standard specification and the estimator is based on it.

AustralisTranslucent
TransparentSilver
LagoonBlue
TransparentBlue
SolarSilver
SolarBlue

The three families behave differently in the sun. Solar slats have a dark base under a tinted top, so they absorb heat and pass it into the water — the strongest heat gain, and the reason Solar Blue is our standard. Transparent slats let sunlight through directly, so they also add heat. Australis is translucent, sitting between the two. Insulation is much the same across all of them; it's the heat gain that varies.

Slat colour can change the price. Screens never show these accurately — ask us for a physical sample before you decide.

Get a budget estimate

Size your pool and choose a system. Figures are for supply of the Aquaroll system only — installation, freight and site works are quoted separately.

System type

Estimated price, including GST

$22,190
LUMINA, 8.0 × 4.0 m. Excluding GST: $20,173.04
Supply only. Installation, site travel, project management and freight to your state are quoted separately once we know your site.
That size sits outside our standard estimator range of 3–12 m by 2–6 m. Larger and smaller pools are absolutely doable — send your dimensions through and we'll price it.

An automated budget estimate, not a formal quotation. Standard specification shown (Solar Blue slats). Actual pricing varies with pool shape, site access, slat colour and options.

Covers and pool fencing

The slats are buoyant and the closed cover looks and feels solid, but Aquaroll has no load rating and is not tested or supplied as a safety cover. It should never be walked on or relied on as a barrier.

It does not replace a compliant pool barrier — Australian fencing requirements apply in full regardless of what cover you have — and it does not replace adult supervision.

Always supervise children around water, whether the cover is open or closed.

Why buy from Elite

We invented the category in this country, and we still make the covers ourselves.

  • Australia's first automatic pool coverElite was founded in 1989 by engineer John Webb, after he invented Australia's first fully automatic pool cover system.
  • Designed, made and installed by usNot imported and rebadged. We manufacture here and install with factory trained staff in every state.
  • Exported worldwideOur systems go to New Zealand, South Africa, Spain, France and the UAE.
  • New pools and retrofitsFive concealment systems means there's usually a way to fit an existing pool, not just one being built.

Common questions

What's the difference between LUMINA and Aquaroll?
The same rigid slat cover, housed two different ways. LUMINA's roller sits above ground in a sculpted end-post with lighting, optional audio and solar. Aquaroll's roller is concealed — below ground in a cavity, behind a false wall, or under a bench — so nothing shows when the cover is open.
Can it go on an existing pool?
Often, yes. The above-ground systems and LUMINA are retrofit-friendly. The fully concealed options need a cavity built into the pool shell, so they generally suit new builds or major renovations. Send us photos of the pool surround and we'll tell you which options are open to you.
Why is the estimate supply only?
Installation cost depends on your site — access, the surround, whether there's build work for a pit or bench, and travel. Rather than pad the estimate with a guess, we price supply accurately and quote installation once we've seen the site.
Can I walk on it? It looks solid.
No. The slats are sealed and buoyant, so a closed cover sits high on the water and looks like a surface you could stand on — but it has no load rating and isn't tested as a safety cover. Treat it as a cover, keep your fence compliant, and supervise children around the pool as you would with any cover.
What colours do the slats come in?
The range is Australis Translucent, Transparent Silver, Lagoon Blue, Transparent Blue, Solar Silver and Solar Blue — Solar Blue is our standard specification and the estimator is based on it. Colour can change the price, and screens never render these accurately, so ask for a physical sample before you decide.
What's the warranty?
Five years on the slats and three years on the motor and controller. The slats are the part that lives in the sun and the water year round, which is why they carry the longer term.
Does it heat the pool?
Yes. Sunlight passes into the polycarbonate slat and warms the water underneath during the day, and the sealed air chambers hold that heat in overnight while cutting evaporation. How much heat you gain varies with the colour you choose — Solar is the strongest. Separately, the solar panels on a LUMINA charge the cover's own battery, not the pool.
